Honey Harvest on Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Mountain is buzzing!
This month marked the first honey harvest on Grandfather Mountain. Fifteen months ago Grandfather Mountain started raising its own honey bees. The venture originated because Grandfather President Crae Morton and Trails Manager Luke Appling were both keenly interested in the behavior of bees, and because the company is committed to a healthy environment. The Mountain's two hives produced enough of the golden deliciousness this summer for the team to draw off a little over two gallons of the sweet treat for the staff to enjoy.
