Time/Place: September 29, 7PM-9PM, the Historic Joseph McDowell House, Marion NC
The public is invited to attend a historical interpretive program featuring members of the Overmountain Victory Trail Association on the grounds of the Historic Joseph McDowell House. Learn about the owner of this historic site and his involvement in the Battle at Kings Mountain. Admission is Free and parking is available next door at Mountain First Bank.

A revoluntionary war re-enactment and encampment on the grounds of the Museum of NC Minerals in Spruce Pine. Events features costumed reenactors demonstrating traditonal crafts and other activities including candlemaking, spinning, tomahawk and skillet tosses and skirmishes. Honey Harvest on Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Mountain is buzzing!
This month marked the first honey harvest on Grandfather Mountain. Fifteen months ago Grandfather Mountain started raising its own honey bees. The venture originated because Grandfather President Crae Morton and Trails Manager Luke Appling were both keenly interested in the behavior of bees, and because the company is committed to a healthy environment. The Mountain's two hives produced enough of the golden deliciousness this summer for the team to draw off a little over two gallons of the sweet treat for the staff to enjoy. Farmers' Market- Robbinsville

August 29 from 4PM - 7PM at The Stecoah Art Center in Robbinsville NC. Organized by The Smoky Mountain Native Plant Association. Ransom Cornett and Henry Redding will sell fresh produce, honey and eggs. Visitors can expect a variety of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Area farmers, artisans, and crafters are invited to sell their product at the Center.

We carry two hummingbird feeders: PERRY ENTERPRISE feeders are available in the shoppe: They are very ornamental and made with "antique looking" bottles with colorful flowers as the sippers. They also make one that has a suction cup you can attach to your window. We like these because they are made right here in the mountains by a father and son team.
